Also, as a side note, make sure that you are not attempting to read a DVD in a CD only drive, won't work. Most likely, thanks to Microsoft, they may be dropping support for CDFS. If not, look at the drive manufacturer's site to see if it is able to read CDFS, not all drives, especally new ones are capable of reading CDFS. If that works, good, copy all the data over to a network location or a thumb drive. Now that that is out of the way, if you are having issues reading a CDFS disc in your computer I suggest first attepmting to read it in another computer, an XP box preferably. There are also a bunch of freeware programs that seem to work too. Or if you have an old XP box, use that as it will write CDFS natively. Nero and Roxio are a couple of programs that will do this for you. If you need to write a CDFS disc, for use in MP3 capable players etc. Thus, they have removed any ability to write CDFS discs begining with Vista. However, Microsoft has decided that we do not need this highly compatable format anylonger and has created UDF, or in their words, LFS. Most, if not all, versions of Windows can read a disk that is written in the CDFS format. Much like FAT, FAT32 and NTFS is a file system used for hard drives. First, CDFS, offically called ISO9660, refers to a file system used for CDs and DVDs. CDF file gets uploaded and converted into a nice table with all applications and a recommendation.
